Standing barely five feet high behind a set of turntables is the cause for the entire hullabaloo inside of the Calgary club.
Isis Graham, a local DJ in Calgary is only 22, yet her roots go eight years deep into the local rave culture. Over the past five years she has achieved transition into the bar and club scene, where she is making a serious name for herself as a solid house DJ.
Her sound has matured with many influences across the board. Her blend of deep and funky rhythms stimulates dance floors into bursts of perpetual motion. Her feminine and ecstatic energy behind the decks has prompted her to be one of the most sought after Djs in Calgary. Dancing is my whole inspiration, I love music, she says and it is this understanding of the Calgary nightlife dynamic that has given her some excellent opportunities and experiences. She has played alongside house greats like Dj Sneak, Mark Farina, Jason Hodges, Johnnie Fiasco and cross genre heavy hitters such as Joe Mills, Dj Gumby, Tony Faline, Aquasky, Mistress Barbara, Lori the Hifi, Tomcraft and Rank 1.
Currently Isis can be seen playing at numerous one-off events in Calgary or weekly at the Cherry Lounge on Saturdays with Calgary icons Jon Delerious & Domenic G, as well as Dylan Leroy & Josh VanN. You can also catch her at the monthly issue of Girls on Decks, which is a fabulous night showcasing female only talent in and around Alberta. Isis has also made appearances outside of Calgary in Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto and a few small towns in between.
Isis is devoted to the promotion of house music within Calgary and Canada. She is an active member of the Tekno Collective, a local production company known for their innovative ideas and boundary breaking events. She is also the only female Dj on the roster of Calgarys largest production company, Fehrenheit Promotions. Hoping to unify the culture with great events and music, she is constantly working hard to bring you the best Keep your ears peeled in the future for studio productions and collaborations.
